Bio:
Decapo, a band that performed in and around the Oxford Area in the early 80s.
Founded by Ron Ruhle the singer, songwriter and guitarist.
The band's line up was the classic, bass drums, sax and guitar. Playing a mixture of ska, hip hop, dance, and rock.
The band is a must have sound for any house party.
Lester Moses the sax player was an driving force within the band. An accomplished musician in his own right he helped create a sound that soon became very popular within the "muso" scene in Oxford. The band eventually went their separate ways in the mid 80s, but the name "decapo" lives on.
Ron has performed a number of solo sessions, including two huge gigs that people still speak of today. The first gig was when Ron linked up with Denny Ilot, one of the UKs most inspiring young Guitarist. Joining him for a Hendrix special. The gig is still ringing in the ears of some today (REAL MASH-UP). The other gig "still remembered", was a solo gig spinning "grand Master Flash's" Message on the wheels of steel, using part backing track and part live guitar.
Ron is now creating a new sound with resonator style guitar up front and groove style heat floating the vibe. Chill....
\this channel will update you and take you through the musicians and songs that have inspired Ron which may then lead you to a reason for the decapo style...
